A gondola ride is a must for your first time in Venice. Yes, it's pricey but it's worth it. I was lucky to have a gondolier who told stories, sang, and worked for his money.
You can ride along the Grand Canal or the smaller interior canals. Sip some champagne and buon viaggio!
