Today is Festa di San Marco, the feast day of the patron saint of Venice.
It is also called "Festa del Bocolo," and I just love how it is celebrated. Men are supposed to give their loved ones a red rose (the "bocolo" or blossom). How romantic!
There is also a gondolier's regatta as part of the city's celebration.
